Lawrence County United Way at 63% of Fundraising Goal

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – The United Way of Lawrence County’s annual campaign is more than halfway to its goal of $450,000, the agency reports.

Spokesman Scott Campbell said the United Way Campaign Cabinet, responsible for soliciting donations, and workplace campaigns have raised a combined $283,500, or 63% of the goal.

Among the highlights of the fundraising campaign are $3,000 from residential mailings, $2,456 from Giant Eagle Corp., $2,144 from employees of Arnett Carbis Tootman, $1,046 from employees at Eat’n Park, $1,040 from employees of Eckles Architecture and $1,000 from New York Blower Corp.

The Lawrence County United Way supports 19 nonprofit agencies that provide more than 45 programs.

Gayle Young, executive director of United Way of Lawrence County, thanked the volunteers and companies for a job well done in the campaign.

She again thanked the various businesses that have donated prizes for anyone donating more than $250: Stramba Farm & Fiber Studio, The Jacqueline House, Cialella & Carney and Reed’s Services. Also being raffled is a Toyota 86 donated by Preston Auto Group,

The next campaign report meeting will be held at noon Jan. 30 at First Presbyterian Church in New Castle.
