Lawrence Mercer Athena Awards Set for April 18
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The Fifth Annual Athena Leadership Awards Celebration, sponsored by Lawrence Mercer Athena, will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. April 18 at the New Castle Country Club. Eleven women will be honored for advancing the cause of women in leadership who have demonstrated excellence, creativity, and initiative in their community and profession.
Honorees for the Athena Leadership Award include Andrea Peters, proprietor of Andrea Peters Lifestyle & Gifts; Donna Walters, CIO of Sharon Regional Health System; Dr. Elizabeth Piccione, cardiologist and vice president of Medical Affairs at UPMC Jameson; Dr. Jeanne Zingale, instructor in communications at Penn State Shenango; Jennifer Bell, client adviser with F.N.B. Wealth Management; Kim Koller-Jones, executive director and CEO of Hoyt Center for the Arts; Mira Thompson, finance coordinator at the United Way of Lawrence County; Roxanne Atterholt, instructor in Human Development & Family Studies at Penn State Shenango; Summer Wise, proprietor of Trendy Trousseau LLC and Toss’D Food Service.
The emerging Athena Young Professional Leadership Award honorees are: Alyson Stover, director and proprietor of Capable Kids LLC; and Katlin Bowser, proprietor of Shaver’s Barber Shop. The Athena Organizational Leadership Award will be presented to Margaret T. Lucas, attorney at law.
Founded 30 years ago, Athena International is known for its mission to support, develop, and honor women leaders. The organization is headquartered in Chicago, and its award programs have honored 6,500 women leaders in more than eight countries.
