Learn Culture of Valley by Playing Mahoning Bingo
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Mahoning Cultural Collaborative has launched Mahoning Valley Bingo, an activity for all ages this summer.
The Mahoning Cultural Collaborative is composed of local nonprofit institutions that are field trip destinations for students who attend local schools. Its goal is to increase awareness of cultural institutions through programs and group promotions.
Visit any of the collaborative sites beginning Tuesday to pick up a Mahoning Valley Bingo card and begin filling the squares.
Among the sites participating are The Butler Institute of American Art, Arms Family Museum, Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, Mill Creek MetroParks, The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor (Steel Museum), Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center, Melnick Medical Museum, Ward Beecher Planetarium at Youngstown State University, Smith Mineral Museum and the McDonough Museum of Art.
Bingo squares represent museum visits, hands-on activities, outdoor experiences and science exploration as well as fun with books, art and music, organizers say. When a card is filled, it can be dropped off at a participating site and be entered to win prizes
Deadline for entries is Labor Day, Sept. 7. A drawing from all completed bingo cards will be held at Oh Wow’s Silly Science Sunday in September.
For more information, call Leann Rich at the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, 330 743 2589. Bingo cards can also be downloaded at this website.
