Lehman Wins Daisy Award at Salem Regional Medical Center
SALEM, Ohio – Salem Regional Medical Center recently recognized Jessica Lehman as its first Daisy Award winner of 2024.
Lehman, a registered nurse in the oncology unit, was celebrated by SRMC leadership, her family and fellow employees for her dedication to her patients and clinical excellence.
“Jessica is a dedicated nurse who demonstrates compassion for others while always maintaining high standards of professionalism in nursing,” says Leigh Knife, director of nursing. “The efforts she displays daily epitomize what the Daisy Award stands for.”
As part of this recognition, Lehman received a pin, certificate and a box of cinnamon rolls to share with her coworkers.
“I enjoy every aspect of patient care and am grateful that my efforts have made a meaningful impact,” says Lehman. “To receive this award is truly an honor.”
Lehman was one of 15 nurses at SRMC nominated for the award by colleagues and patients.
“We launched the Daisy Award program to honor and recognize the excellent care that our nurses are practicing,” Knife says. “We wanted their patients and peers to be able to communicate their stories that demonstrate our organization’s ICARE values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence.”
