Liberty Steel to Present New Leveler System
NORTH JACKSON, Ohio – Liberty Steel Products Inc. plans to celebrate its 50th year in business by commissioning a new, multimillion-dollar leveling system that will enhance its capabilities.
Officeholders, local business leaders, company managers and employees are scheduled to participate in a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Liberty Steel’s main plant, 11650 Mahoning Ave.
The new equipment – a synergy leveling system — was designed and built by Salem-based Butech Bliss and will “vastly increase” Liberty Steel’s blanking and slitting capabilities and capacity and improve its competitiveness in the global market, the company said in a release Monday.
The steel service center processes coated, cold-rolled, and hot-rolled steel and provides slitting and blanking services.
Liberty Steel Products, founded by the Weller family in 1965, has grown from a 4,000-square-foot plant to a company with several locations that serve hundreds of customers in the United States and global markets. In addition to the North Jackson plant, Liberty Steel Products operates a facility in Hubbard.
The company has more than 300 customers in North America.
