Library Seeks Community Input in Strategic Planning Process

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County is seeking insights and ideas from community members and stakeholders to help shape its direction and initiatives.

The library will host a series of community feedback conversations as part of its strategic planning process to provide “an opportunity for the library to refine its goals, ensuring it remains an inclusive and innovative hub for lifelong learning and cultural enrichment,” a news release states.

During the informal conversations, community members will be able to share their perspectives with Aimee Fifarek, director and CEO of the PLYMC. Dates and locations are posted on the library’s Strategic Plan 2023 website, and more will be added.

“Community feedback is at the heart of our strategic planning process,” said Maggie Henderson, strategic communications officer. “We want to hear from our community members about their aspirations for the library, the services they value most and how we can best support their needs.”

For those unable to attend the conversations in person, an online survey is available HERE. Paper copies of the survey are also available at PLYMC branches.

PLYMC began its strategic planning process at the beginning of 2023, holding focus groups and town halls with members of its board of trustees and nearly 200 employees at every branch. The final plan will be released by the end of the year.
