Licata Recognized as Beta Gamma Sigma’s Dean of the Year
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Beta Gamma Sigma has selected Betty Jo Licata, dean of the Williamson College of Business Administration, as its 2018 Dean of the Year.
She received the award at the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International Conference and Annual Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, earlier this month.
Among Licata’s work with YSU’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma – a business honorary open only to schools that are accredited by AACSB – includes full participation in the induction process, organizing student trips to the Global Leadership Summit each year, facilitating members’ involvement in Junior Achievement’s “JA in a Day,” and helping students complete the Ethical Leadership Certification program. With Licata’s help, YSU has consistently earned Beta Gamma Sigma’s “Highest Honors” recognition.
Licata has served as dean of Williamson College since 1995 and helped the college earn its initial accreditation from AACSB. Only 30% of American business schools and 5% of business schools globally are accredited by the association.
