Licata to Lead Accrediting Association Review Committee
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Betty Jo Licata, dean of the Williamson College of Business Administration, has been named chairwoman of the International Continuous Improvement Review Committee by the American Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The committee oversees the continuation of accreditation process for the national organization, ensuring application standards and equity of recommendations. As chairwoman, Licata will also serve on the association’s Business Accreditation Policy Committee, which oversees policies related to quality assurance services.
Licata has served as dean of Youngstown State University’s Williamson College since 1995. During her tenure, the college earned accreditation from the American Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Businesses in 2000 and extensions in 2011 and 2014.
Less than 5% of business schools around the world carry the association’s accreditation.
Worldwide, the organization provides quality assurance, business education and professional development services to more than 1,600 organizations and 800 accredited schools. It has offices in Tampa, Fla., as well as Amsterdam and Singapore.
