Life in the 1800s Featured at YoChautauqua2016
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Lifelong Learning Institute will host YoChautauqua2016, a daylong education and entertainment program, Thursday at the Gelhaar Center at Park Vista of Youngstown.
The five-hour program, modeled on those at the Chautauqua Institute in New York, highlights what life was like in the Mahoning Valley in the 1800s. The schedule features lectures, musical performances and a tour of the Arms Family Museum.
Admission for YoChautauqua2016 is free.
The first presentation, Life in the Western Reserve, is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.. Closing out YoChautauqua2016 is a performance by Gerald Payn reenacting the life of Abraham Lincoln and a performance by the Harmony String Quartet, who will perform music from the 1800s.
All events except the tour will be held at the Gelhaar Center, 1216 Fifth Ave..
