‘Light Up the Square’ Seeks Funds for Lighting Project
WARREN, Ohio — Light Up the Square, a newly formed community group that wants to enhance Warren’s Courthouse Square with permanent and seasonal lighting, is soliciting tax-deductible donations.
The initiative was announced today by the organization, which is dedicating the project in memory of Jim Economos, the long-time owners of the Saratoga Restaurant who died in April.
Organizers say the project goals are to permanently enhance the 22 pear trees along the perimeter of the Square with spot lighting and provide seasonal lighting of the gazebo, fountain, lamp posts and Christmas tree in the Square.
Tax-deductible donations can be made through the project’s fiscal agent, Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, a 501(c)3 nonprofit community development corporationo.
To make a donation, download a donation form at LightUptheSquare.org or donate online. To sponsor spotlighting one of the 22 trees, a $500 donation is requested and the tree will be marked with an engraved brick. General donations may be made in any amount and will be designated for the seasonal lighting or a portion of a tree.
The dedication of the lighting is scheduled to take place Dec. 2 at the gazebo in Courthouse Square.
For more information, and to volunteer to assist with installation of the lighting, contact Jennifer Economos at 330 393 6646.
