‘Living Dead,’ Rust Belt Theater’s Horror Spoof, Returns to Life

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – After skipping a year, Rust Belt Theater Company will bring back its original show “Living Dead: The Musical,” with performances at 8 p.m. Oct. 18, 19, 25 and 26 at Club Switch, 221 Belmont Ave., downtown.

Written by Robert Dennick Joki, executive director of the theater, and Josh Taylor, “Living Dead” is a musical parody of classic horror films, based on the 1968 George A. Romero zombie classic “Night of the Living Dead.”

“We took a break from this script last season, and a lot of our patrons missed it,” Joki said. “So the show is back this year, with a new cast and a fresh pair of eyes.”

This year’s production – the theater’s 12th – is being directed by Keith Stepanic.

The cast includes Nicole Zayas, Caitlyn Murphy, Sarah Whitlach, Heather Powell, Rian Davis, Brooke Jonas, Jon Bunge, Samantha Foster, Caitlyn Cole, Lisa Torrence, Diane Marie, Cadence Treich, Patience Miles, Keith Stepanic, Robert May, Jessica Patoray, Jennifer Hutton, Adelyn Crum, Eli Smith and Vicci Sfikas.

Tickets are $15. All seats are general admission. To reserve seats, call 330 507 2358.
