Local Brouse McDowell Partner Recognized for Community Service
CANFIELD, Ohio – Partner Matt Vansuch is the recipient of Brouse McDowell’s 2023 Karl S. Hay Community Service Award.
The award was created by the firm in 2002 to recognize a Brouse attorney, paralegal or staff member who exemplifies commitment to the community. In addition to the honor, a monetary donation is made to the recipient’s charity of choice. Vansuch chose Northeast Ohio Adoption Services.
Vansuch, of the Brouse office at 6550 Seville Drive, served as a member and vice chair of the board for the Northeast Ohio Adoption Services for five years. He currently is a member of the Trumbull County United Way Planning Committee, and for the past seven years has provided input, guidance and recommendations to the board of directors about the United Way’s programs, strategic planning and funding.
Vansuch is an active member of the Trumbull County and Mahoning County bar associations. For Trumbull County, he is a former chair of the Young Lawyers Committee and a current member of the Court Relations/Local Rules Committee, Bar Application Committee and Fee Dispute Committee.
He is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Board of Governors, the volunteer body that manages the Ohio Bar’s business affairs, sets policy and reviews pending legislation on behalf of the members of the OSBA. He has served on the OSBA Dean’s and Practitioners Advisory Council, and he serves as the vice chair of the Government Affairs committee. Previously, he served the Ohio State Bar Association as the District 18 representative to the Council of Delegates.
Vansuch is also the voice of the Howland High School and Youngstown State University marching bands, introducing and announcing the band performances during football season. He also serves as a parish council member at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.
