Local Investor Buys Main Street Theater for $850,000
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — A Columbiana investment firm has purchased the Main Street Theater at 11 N. Main St.
Ronjon Investments V LLC purchased the property for $850,000, according to the Columbiana County Auditor. The sale closed Jan. 14. The theater was previously owned by My Theater Co. LLC, which purchased the property in February 2007 for $300,000.
Ronjon Investments lists an address at 100 Commerce Circle in Columbiana for tax purposes. State records list Raymond John Kufleitner, president of Columbiana Chrysler Jeep Dodge, as the agent for the firm.
In April 2021, The Business Journal reported the previous owners of Main Street Theater, Don and Dawn Arthur, had permanently closed the venue. However, the Columbiana Cultural Collective was formed in an effort to raise some $1.5 million to purchase and renovate the building, then reopen it as a community cultural and arts center.
Earlier this month, John and Beth Kufleitner offered to purchase the theater and sell it to the Collective in five years interest-free, according to a report by WKBN-27.
In 2007, the Arthurs invested about $1 million to restore Main Street Theater, reopening it in 2009 as the home of Crown Theater Co. The 400-seat theater was also used for movies and concerts.
