Lee Eye Care Locations Sold for $5.8M

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Two local eye care offices sold this week, including the Lee Eye Care office on Market Street, which was purchased for $5.8 million Thursday.

According to records from the Mahoning County County Auditor, Terravet Eye Boardman LLC of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., purchased the location of Lee Eye Center, an ophthalmology business, located at 8135 Market Street. The Lee Eye Center and Surgery Center provides comprehensive optical care, as well as surgeries including LASIK and cataracts.

The 1.86 acre Lee Eye Center property was owned by Loon Family LLC, which had purchased it in 2008 for $400,000. The building was constructed in 2009.

Lee Eye Center has locations in Hermitage, Pa.; Greenville, Pa.; Weirton, W.Va.; and Calcutta. According to the Columbiana County Auditor’s records, Terravet Eye Calcutta LLC, also of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., purchased the nearly 41,000-square-foot Calcutta location on Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road in St. Clair Township this week for $737,429. Loon Family LLC also previously owned that one-acre property.

According to a press release, FOCUS Investment banking announced in August that Lee Eye Center was purchased by Midwest Vision Partners, a company headquartered in Chicago and with a partnership in San Francisco-based private equity firm, Alpine Investors.

Terravet Real Estate Solutions, which lists the same address as Terravet Eye Boardmand LLC, buys veterinary practices according to the Terravet Real Estate Solutions business website.
