Lordstown Motors Tosses Support Behind Burrow, Bengals
LORDSTOWN, Ohio – Though the Cincinnati Bengals fell short of being crowned NFL champions on Sunday, employees at Lordstown Motors Corp. found time to throw their support behind the team’s star quarterback and celebrity spokesman, Joe Burrow.
“It was great to celebrate our brand ambassador Joe Burrow’s participation in the Big Game yesterday,” read a post on LinkedIn from the electric-vehicle manufacturer on Monday. “Lordstown Motors is behind you, Joe.”
Burrow, an Athens, Ohio native and Heisman Trophy winner from Louisiana State University, signed on as the company’s celebrity “brand ambassador” in 2020.
The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Bengals 23-20 in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday.
Lordstown Motors posted pictures of employees in Farmington Hills, Mich., crowded around an Endurance pickup painted in orange and black Bengals colors, along with the number nine on its doors, in honor of Burrow. Two other photos show employees in Irvine, Calif. and Lordstown gathered in support of Burrow.
A second post featured a Lordstown Motors logo with the number nine, noting “In our hearts, you won it all.”
“Congratulations to Joe Burrow on a great season,” the second post read. “We are proud to have you on our team.”
Lordstown Motors is in the process of manufacturing pre-production models of the all-electric Endurance pickup. The company is working toward a final agreement with Foxconn that calls for the Taiwanese tech giant to purchase the Lordstown Assembly plant and act as a contract manufacturer for the Endurance and future Lordstown Motors products.
