Staughton Lynd, a political activist during the civil rights movement and Vietnam War, discusses racism in the 1960s and how it compares to Black Lives Matter protests.

Lynd details his experience as a protester and how he turned down a career at Yale University.

“Whites have been more hesitant to criticize blacks, but I have the feeling that the black movement has not always helped itself when it, kind of, organized alone,” Lynd said.
