Magnet Marks 40 Years by Launching Forging the Future Campaign

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (Magnet) is marking its 40th anniversary by celebrating four decades of helping manufacturing grow in northeastern Ohio and looking toward the future.

The Forging the Future campaign will celebrate the history of manufacturing in the region while looking toward the next 40 years of growth and innovation. The campaign launch video can be viewed HERE.

Since its founding in 1984, Magnet has helped more than 10,000 companies in the region drive innovation, improve operations and cultivate leadership. From pioneering the federal Manufacturing Extension Partnership to workforce initiatives, the group’s commitment to manufacturing excellence has created a $10 billion economic impact across the region, a news release states.

“We’re incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone and the impact Magnet has been able to make with the incredible companies and community partners we work with every day,” said Ethan Karp, Magnet president and CEO. “As we reflect on the past, we’re also laser-focused on building a future powered by hi-tech talent, advanced technology and world-class innovation. A future where Northeast Ohio leads the world in smart manufacturing.”

Magnet’s campaign will showcase stories about northeastern Ohio’s manufacturing past, present and future. Showcasing the collective voices of community partners, company leaders and Magnet, the campaign aims to strengthen awareness of the economic power and potential of manufacturing and the vital role it plays in the region’s economic growth.

“Manufacturing creates 270,000 jobs in our region, and every one of those jobs supports four more jobs – that’s more than 1 million jobs,” Karp said. “Manufacturing drives half our regional economy. In Northeast Ohio, manufacturing growth is economic growth. That’s why Magnet is so committed to helping the industry grow and prosper.”
