Mahoning Children Services Names Tvaroch Executive Director
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Mahoning County Children Services Board announced at its June 13 board meeting that Richard Tvaroch has been selected as the agency’s new executive director. The board unanimously voted to approve a one-year contract.
Tvaroch will assume the post July 24. He replaces Randall B. Muth who served as the agency’s director for the last 10 years. Muth’s final day at the agency was June 8. He is the new executive director of Lucas County Children Services in Toledo. During the transition, Dr. Joseph Mosca is serving as interim director of the Mahoning County agency.
The Mahoning County Children Services Board was actively involved in the executive director search process. Eleven individuals applied for the position.
“Mr. Tvaroch’s vision, enthusiasm, and decades of public service and experience make him an excellent choice as our next executive director as our agency continues to provide vital services to the children and families of Mahoning County,” said Daniel Wakefield, chairman of the Mahoning County Children Services Board.
Tvaroch describes himself as “a proven leader and goal-oriented professional” with over 30 years of Ohio public child welfare administrative experience. Since 2004 and currently, Tvaroch serves as the quality assurance administrator at Trumbull County Children Services in Warren. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Akron, and B.A. from Youngstown State University.

Together, we will work tirelessly to ensure every child and family in Mahoning County receives the care, support, and opportunities they deserve,” said Tvaroch.
