Mahoning Auditor Honored for 2018 Financial Report
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mahoning County has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
The county’s 2018 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report contains financial statements and other financial and statistical data “which ensures the full disclosure of all material financial aspects.”
Organizations are judged by an impartial panel, including for “demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story,” the association said in a statement. The Certificate of Achievement is the group’s highest honor.
“I thank the entire staff of the auditor’s office for their efficient and cooperative work throughout this project and and the auditor of state of Ohio in completing our annual audit and review,” said Mahoning County Auditor Ralph Meacham in a statement. “I am honored to work with such dedicated and professional people. This is just another example of our commitment to transparency in government.”
