Mahoning Land Bank Holds Auction for Commercial Property
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mahoning County Land Bank will host a public auction for a commercial property on Youngstown’s east side through Nov. 18.
The property, 220 Hubbard Road, is 2.92 acres with a 23,187-square-foot building. It includes warehouse and office space. The site was previously occupied by Superior Chemical Co.; an environmental assessment shows no issues at the site.
The steel frame building has a concrete ramp loading dock inside and two overhead doors with electric openers at ground level. Several office rooms will need to be remodeled or can be removed to add more warehouse space.
Online bidding has started at $30,000 and will continue in $1,000 increments until the auction closes at 2 p.m. Nov. 18.
The sale marks the first time the Mahoning County Land Bank has sold a building through public auction.
“This is just one more way we’re able to acquire a tax-delinquent property, clean its title and work toward selling it to a responsible party,” said Debora Flora, executive director of the land bank, in a statement. “It’s another milestone for us, selling a commercial property through a public auction with the goal of attracting or sustaining another business in the Youngstown area.”
The property is listed with Basinger Auction Service and is available for online bidding only. Open houses will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 3 and Nov. 17.
