Mahoning River Corridor Survey Seeks Input from Residents

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Environmental Collaborative, in partnership with MS Consultants and the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, is seeking input on what residents envision for the future of the Mahoning River

Input will be used in developing the groups’ plan for the Mahoning River Corridor Revitalization. In July, the groups launched the plan to create a shared vision of the Mahoning River as “the river of opportunity.”

To get an idea of what the public wants for the corridor, residents from the 13 communities touched by the river can get involved by first identifying their location by using the interactive mapping tool, then by filling out the online survey.

As the project team’s community engagement lead, Environmental Collaborative had originally planned to engage the community via local events. But because of the coronavirus pandemic, the organization instead opted for an online approach. Residents can visit MyMahoningRiver.com/get-involved for more information.

Residents have until Dec. 31 to participate in the survey.
