Mahoning Valley Historical Society Gets $15,000 in COVID Relief Grants
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mahoning Valley Historical Society has received a pair of COVID-19 relief grants, helping the organization offset losses from canceled programs.
As part of a joint effort by local foundations, The Youngstown Foundation awarded the society a $10,000 grant and the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley awarded $5,000.
“We’re thrilled and grateful to receive these grants,” says Linda Kostka, the society’s development director, in a statement. “They will offset some of the significant losses in admissions, gift shop sales, events, and rentals during our temporary closures in 2020.”
The grants – also provided by the Raymond John Wean Foundation – focus on crisis relief, stabilization and rebuilding local communities.
On Tuesday, the foundations opened a new round of funding for the grants. Applications can be submitted to any combination of the three organizations HERE.
