CANFIELD, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Warrior competition will return at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Canfield Fairgrounds.

The annual event, now in its fourth year, is a competition for runners, strength athletes, business and community organizations and weekend athletes throughout the Mahoning Valley. It is sponsored by the Autism Society of the Mahoning Valley.

Athletes, runners, walkers and groups of any combination can participate in a singular event or choose from the menu of events, including:

  • Group People-Powered Tractor Pull;
  • Kids 400-Meter Fun Run;
  • Autism One-Mile Support Walk;
  • Valley Autism 5K run;
  • Individual strength events.

In addition, elite competitors choosing to go for the title of Mahoning Valley Warrior in the male and female categories will compete in a quadrathlon consisting of a 5K, Individual People-Powered Tractor Pull and two Strongman events. Winners will take home a cash prize and a winner’s belt.

This event also is a celebration for the ASMV’s Mahoning Valley autism families. Presented with the support of the Knapp Center for Childhood Development, it will include a Family Fun Carnival with inflatables, games, food trucks and a petting zoo.

There will also be the One-Mile Autism Support Walk for community supporters, family fundraising teams and all families affected by autism. The event will also feature the region’s largest special needs resource fair.
