Maiorano Joins Regional Chamber as Manager of Workforce Development

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber this week announced that Melissa Maiorano has joined its economic development team as manager of workforce development. In this role, she will lead the chamber’s JobsNow program, its partnership with JobsOhio’s “Ohio To Work” initiative and regional partnerships with educators and training organizations, while working to support the workforce needs of business members.

Maiorano brings a wealth of workforce knowledge from her most recent position as a regional pharmacy technician specialist with Rite Aid Pharmacy. She recruited, hired, trained and developed pharmacy technicians for 20 stores within the Youngstown region to ensure that each associate remained in compliance with the State Board of Pharmacy guidelines and met educational requirements to be certified in the state of Ohio.

After graduating from Muskingum University with a B.S. in environmental science and minors in chemistry and French, Maiorano worked in Columbus as a chemical technician and then as a compliance officer following her return to the Valley. The Boardman resident enjoys coaching girls softball and cheerleading. She was a four-year varsity starter while at Muskingum. During her sophomore season in 2016, she earned first team all Ohio Athletic Conference.
