Manufacturers Coalition Adds Accountant to Staff

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mary Unger has joined the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition in the newly formed role of accounting and operations manager.

Her responsibilities include preparing financial statements for the board of directors meetings, day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping/accounts payable, managing grant funds, reviewing procedures and file management.

Unger spent 27 years with Trumbull-Mahoning Medical Group – including serving as chief financial officer. She’s also been a controller with MVI Homecare and Progressive Quality Care. She’s a Trumbull County native and Youngstown State University graduate.

MVMC interim executive director Alex Hertzer says as the organization continues to build capacity, Unger’s background is a welcome addition to the staff.

“We’re fortunate to have grown to the point of bringing our finance and accounting functions in-house, and even more fortunate to have found someone of Mary’s character and experience to serve in this new role,” he says.
