Mar Elected Chairman of PA Chamber Board

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry Board of Directors has elected Manuel Mar as its new chairman. Mar, who is senior vice president and senior relationship manager at Santander Bank, is the organization’s first Hispanic American board chairman.

Mar previously served as first vice chairman. He succeeds outgoing board chairman Nicholas Bertram, president and chief operating officer of Flashfood.

“Pennsylvania has real opportunities to lead in the future global economy, and I’m excited to take on this role and seize new opportunities to propel our commonwealth into a promising future,” Mar says. “I am proud to represent the banking industry, and the growing voice of Pennsylvania’s Hispanic business community; and I welcome the diverse voices of many others as we work together to advance a pro-growth agenda that benefits all Pennsylvanians.”

Robert Scaer, president of Gannett Fleming, was elected to serve as first vice chair. Christina Marsh, chief diversity and community development officer at Erie Insurance, was elected vice chair.
