McCloud Returning as Leader of Ohio BWC

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a stint leading Ohio’s public health department, Stephanie McCloud is set to return to the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation as the agency’s administrator.

Gov. Mike DeWine announced the move Wednesday. Replacing McCloud at the Ohio Department of Health is Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff, who has served as the agency’s chief medical officer.

Both McCloud and Vanderhoff were put in their roles at the health department in early November,.

Prior to that, McCloud had been the administrator of BWC since 2018. The agency has 1,800 employees and more than $28 billion in assets.

“Working together as a team, Stephanie McCloud and Bruce Vanderhoff guided the Ohio Department of Health over the past nine months,” DeWine said in a statement. “I would like to thank Stephanie McCloud for her leadership of the Ohio Department of Health and look forward to her return to lead the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.”
