MCCTC Adds Certifications for Graphic Design Students

CANFIELD, Ohio – Students studying digital design and print at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will be able to earn three PrintEd certifications upon completing the two-year program.

The certifications are awarded by the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation. In order to offer the certifications, MCCTC digital design and print teacher Mary Ann Thoburn went through an 85-hour course over the summer.

“The PrintEd certifications will open the door for countless opportunities for the students in the Digital Design & Print program at MCCTC,” she said in a release. “There are many more benefits of taking the program, including three Adobe certifications, scholarships for post secondary studies and a direct pathway to advance in the workforce.”

Thoburn went through the course with Kathy Durany of Choffin Career and Technical Center, which also offers the certifications.
