MCCTC Completes Phase 3 of Fire Training Center
CANFIELD, Ohio — Mahoning County Career and Technical Center celebrated an addition to their fire training center. It is the third phase of the center and features a classroom, restrooms, offices and a storage area for equipment.
The total construction cost for all three phases for the project is a little over $1.2 million, according to John Zehentbauer, MCCTC superintendent.
“It takes a lot of training to become a firefighter, an EMT and a paramedic and you’ve got to have the right facility to do it in,” says Kevin Reardon, Ohio state fire marshal. “A hands-on training facility like this is critical at getting those skills to people that they need to go out and get jobs.”
