MCCTC to Break Ground on $11.4M Expansion Project
CANFIELD, Ohio – The Mahoning County Career & Technical Center plans to have a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for its expansion project.
The ceremony will be at 11 a.m., and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted is expected to attend.
Late last year, MCCTC received $11.4 million as part of the $200 million allocated by Gov. Mike DeWine and Husted to enhance education and training facilities across the state. MCCTC plans to build a 39,000-square-foot building to house state-of-the-art facilities and classrooms for in-demand programs such as cybersecurity, electricity, welding, robotics and manufacturing.
Husted will highlight the importance of expanding career technical education opportunities. The new building will enable MCCTC to increase enrollment capacity, allowing more students to gain the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
The expansion also will support the growth of the robotics and AI programs, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the future of work.
