MCCTC to Host SkillsUSA Competition on Friday
CANFIELD, Ohio — The Mahoning County Career & Technical Center will host the Ohio Northeast Regionals SkillsUSA Competition on Friday, drawing students from 16 northeastern Ohio schools.
“The Ohio Northeast Regionals SkillsUSA Competition is an exceptional opportunity for students to showcase their talents and dedication to their chosen fields,” said MCCTC Superintendent John Zehentbauer. “We are proud to host this event and provide a platform for students to demonstrate their expertise in a wide range of vocational disciplines. This competition not only highlights the hard work and skill development of our students but also reinforces the importance of vocational education in preparing students for successful careers.”
More than 350 student competitors will participate in 26 competitions, ranging from collision repair to cosmetology, esthetics, nail care, advertising design, crime scene investigation, IT services, welding, criminal justice, CNC milling and technician, medical terminology, medical math, extemporaneous speaking and photography.
The competition will kick off at 8 a.m. The awards ceremony, scheduled for 1 p.m., will recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the students.
More than 800 people from northeastern Ohio are expected to attend, including students, educators, parents, industry professionals and legislators.
