McQueen Joins Burgan Real Estate

CANFIELD, Ohio — Derrick McQueen, a native of Youngstown, has joined Burgan Real Estate as its newest agent.

McQueen graduated from Ursuline High School and earned his B.S. in business administration from the Ohio State University. He returned to Youngstown and began a career with FM101.9 JAMZ radio station as a producer, working behind the scenes to produce live shows for all to enjoy. His passion to make Youngstown a better place guided him to work for the city as a meter installer. When he met Alan Friedkin, co-owner of Burgan Friedkin Commercial Real Estate, he began thinking about a career in real estate.

“I have always wanted to do something with my life that left a lasting imprint on the lives of others, giving them a better opportunity to live the life they dream of,” said McQueen.

“Patrick [Burgan], Sue [Filipovich] and the team at Burgan have created a culture and company that strives to not just find people a home but a better life. What better way to leave a lasting impression on people in our area than by working with them to find the home of their dreams.”

Outside of his career, McQueen’s commitment to making a positive imprint on the world continues through his relationships with his wife, Kali, and 21-year old daughter and by being active in local clubs such as the Toastmasters and Inroads.

Most notably, he is a mentor and financial coach to others. As such, he has volunteered as a personal financial coordinator with the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University, which helps individuals recover from debt situations and develop financial security and independence.
