Mel Grata Sells Dealerships, Retires
HERMITAGE, Pa. – With his impending retirement, Mel Grata has sold his Chevrolet and Toyota dealerships in Hermitage to Matt Taylor, owner of Taylor Kia in Boardman.
Signage at the dealerships was changed last week, according to the Sharon Herald, though Grata will remain the owner of both buildings.
Grata started working at the Chevy dealership more than 40 years ago and spent 32 of those years as owner.
“I’ve said many times I went to work one day when I was 18 years old and woke up the next day and I was 65,” Grata told the Sharon newspaper. “I look at this stage of my life as though I was just going to be doing something different than I’ve been doing for the past 47 years.”
More than 100 are employed at the dealerships. They were informed of the sale in October.
