Mercer Food Bank Partners with HopeCat for Pantry for Students
SHARON, Pa. – Mercer County Food Bank is partnering with the Hope Center for Arts and Technology to open a food bank to serve adult learners and the after-school program.
“We are thrilled to welcome HopeCat to our network of member agencies,” said Rebecca Page, executive director of Mercer County Food Bank. “Having the food pantry on campus provides ease of access and removes barriers like transportation for students experiencing food insecurity.”
A ribbon-cutting will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at HopeCat, 115 Anson Way.
“Access to nutritious food is essential for our students to focus on their education and achieve their goals,” said Lorie Hines, executive director of HopeCat. “This partnership with Mercer County Food Bank allows us to better support our students and their families, ensuring that no one has to choose between education and hunger.”
Current students in need of food assistance can call 724 308 5135 for more information.
