Mester Delivers 2024 Economic Forecast
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Loretta Mester, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, gave her economic forecast at the 2024 Ohio Bankers League Economic Summit.
During the forecast, Mester said the central bank could lower interest rates later in the year but warns: “It would be a mistake to move rates down too soon or too quickly without sufficient evidence that inflation was on a sustainable and timely path back to 2%.”
