Military Affairs Commission to Meet at YARS Thursday
VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio – The 910th Airlift Wing will host a meeting Thursday of Eastern Ohio Military Affairs Commission at the Community Activity Center of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station here.
During the meeting, to run from 1 to 3 p.m., those attending will hear about the commission’s progress since its founding a year ago. The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber launched the commission in 2015 to highlight the military value of the air reserve station and other installations throughout eastern Ohio.
The meeting will kick off with opening remarks by 910th Airlift Wing Commander Col. James Dignan, joined by Vito Abruzzino, head of the commission, and John Rossi, president of the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber Foundation.
Members of Ohio’s delegation to Washington, U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13 Ohio, and U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-6 Ohio, also are scheduled to speak. Local members of the Ohio Statehouse delegation will also be accorded the opportunity to make remarks.
