MLK Planning Committee Connects Law Enforcement to Community
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Members of the community and local FBI officials gathered at First Presbyterian Church to participate in a community workshop for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The keynote speaker for the workshop was Greg Nelsen, special agent of the FBI Cleveland Field Office, who spoke on job opportunities within the FBI and hiring a diverse workforce to help form trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
“Law enforcement has not always had a good reputation in our community,” says Rev. Dr. Amariah McIntosh, associate director of the Ohio Council of Churches. “Bringing them into this space offers them an opportunity to work with the communities that they serve.”
