Moliterno Launches Health-Care Leadership Podcast

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Larry Moliterno, Meridian Healthcare’s CEO, wants to take a look into what makes a leader. To do so, he started “The Power of Care Leadership Series,” a video and podcast that aims to find the common characteristics of area leaders.

The podcast features local leaders answering eight questions in eight minutes. The videos and podcast can be viewed at PowerOfCareLeadership.com.

Moliterno said the podcast was created in light of the challenges communities are going through. He hopes highlighting positive-minded leaders will make an impact during tough times.

Moliterno has already talked to about 20 people – including Youngstown Publishing Co. CEO Jeff Herrmann, Compco Industries Chairman Greg Smith and Struthers Mayor Catherine Cercone Miller – with more scheduled in the future.

“I think, as a community, it’s really important to continue to develop strong leaders, people who aren’t afraid to take on challenges, people who look at obstacles as opportunities,” Moliterno said. “I think anything we could do to identify who those leaders are in our community and support them is important.”

Moliterno said the eight-question format is the tip of the iceberg. If the reception is positive, the addition of roundtables, interviews and other features may be added in the future.

“This is just the starting point for what we want to develop,” he said. “We don’t just want to create a podcast, we want to create a movement.”

Moliterno acknowledged that it’s impossible to know every leader in the community. Submissions for potential appearances can be made at PowerOfCareLeadership.com and filling out the nomination form. Farris stressed that submissions will be viewed, but there are no guarantees regarding appearances on the podcast.

“There’s a lot of folks out there that we don’t know about, but they’re doing great things and they’re showing leadership skills and traits in their own way,” Moliterno said.
