Monthly VLT Wagers Down $2M at Racino
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Video lottery terminal wagers at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course dropped about $2 million in August from the previous month, but were still up year-over-year.
Last month, the Penn National Gaming Inc.-operated racino posted $113.48 million in VLT wagers, down from $115.70 million in July. That compares to $102.32 million in credits played during the same time last year, marking the fourth consecutive year for year-over-year gains in the month of August.
According to data from the Ohio Lottery Commission, which oversees VLT play in Ohio, wagers statewide increased to $1.038 billion, up from $1.015 billion in July. Wagers at Hollywood Mahoning Valley lagged behind other casinos in the state, reporting the fifth-highest amount.
Credits won by Hollywood Mahoning Valley patrons totaled $100.57 million, down from $102.96 million in July, and up from $90.76 million in August 2018.
Net win – wagers minus credits won and promotional play credits – totaled $11.03 million in August, compared to $10.82 million in July, and $10.19 million year-over-year.
Penn National Gaming’s share of the monthly take from net win was $7.29 million, up from $7.16 million in July and up from $6.74 million in August 2018.
