Mrozeks Endow Scholarships for MBA Students at YSU
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A new endowed scholarship at Youngstown State University created by the Mrozek family will support students pursuing master’s degrees in business administration.
In honor the $150,000 donation from Garry and Wanda Mrozek, the area outside the third-floor conference room in Williamson Hall has been renamed the Mrozek Family Reception Area.
Garry Mrozek, co-owner and CEO of Hometown Pharmacy Solutions, has a baccalaureate in business administration management from YSU, as well as an MBA in finance. After a 30-year career in banking, he left his position as regional president of PNC Bank to head Hometown Pharmacy, which operates 14 sites in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
He was named a YSU Distinguished MBA Alumnus in 1998 and was president of the Youngstown State Alumni Association that year. In 2008, he was appointed to the board of the YSU Foundation, where he served as chairman from 2014 to 2016.
Wanda Mrozek, as well as the couple’s children, Stephanie and Matthew, attended YSU for summer classes while pursuing doctoral degrees in pharmacy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Matthew Mrozek is a graduate of the master’s program at Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business.
