Mahoning Valley City Club Hires Project Director
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Lynnette Bilal has been named project director for the City Club of the Mahoning Valley.
In her new role, Bilal will be responsible for fundraising, marketing and media relations, and will work with the City Club of the Mahoning Valley advisory committee, executing forums on topics pertinent to the Mahoning Valley.
A project of The City Club of Cleveland, the City Club of the Mahoning Valley began offering programs in 2016. Forums have focused on a variety of topics including climate change, public education, immigration policy, and white supremacism. In her new role,
“We’re very excited to have Lynnette Bilal join as the club’s first project director,” said Dan Moulthrop, CEO of the City Club of Cleveland. “Her vast experiences and lessons learned from years of outreach, collaboration with local agencies, and advocacy efforts will assist CCMV in its mission to create conversations of consequence that help democracy thrive.”
A graduate of Youngstown State University, Bilal has 25 years of direct service, advocacy, project development, and management experience, according to the news release announcing her appointment. Since 1990, she has dedicated her services to the anti-violence movement in various capacities. Most recently, she served as prevention coordinator for the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence providing training and technical assistance to prevention and rape crisis programs in Ohio.
“I am excited to be a part of an organization with such a rich history dedicated to promoting and facilitating community dialogue,” Bilal said. “I look forward to bringing their mission to Mahoning Valley.”
