MVMC’s Borza to Emcee Annual Workforce Summit
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Jessica Borza, executive director of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition, will emcee the 5th annual Ohio Manufacturers’ Workforce Summit Oct. 27 and 28.
Hosted by the Ohio Manufacturers Association, the summit’s theme is “Attracting the 21st Century Manufacturing Workforce.” Among her duties, Borza will introduce keynote speakers for each day: Amanda Cage, president and CEO of National Fund for Workforce Solutions, on Day 1, and Lt. “It’s certainly a thrill to be part of the event, plus it’s great exposure on a statewide stage to represent the entire Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition staff and membership,” Borza said. “We have an impressive lineup of presenters and encourage anyone with an interest in hiring, training or retaining a manufacturing workforce to attend and contribute to the discussion.”
Cage will give a presentation titled “Job Design and Job Quality – Today’s Strategies to Combat the Labor Shortage.”
Since 2011, the MVMC has added nearly 100 members under Borza’s leadership, aligning partners in education, workforce development, economic development and community-based organizations in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. She also serves as adviser to the Ohio Manufacturers Association on its workforce agenda and rovides technical assistance to the Ohio Manufacturing Workforce Partnership and its earn and learn innovations.
