MVOC Hires New Executive Director

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative announced Thursday that Marcia Dinkins has joined the organization as its new executive director.

Dinkins comes to MVOC from Toledo, where she served as executive director of Toledoans United for Social Action. She will lead the organization “as it continues to grow and build power for residents of Warren and Youngstown,” according to the announcement.

She succeeds DaMareo Cooper as MVOC’s executive director.

Also joining MVOC this month is Nate Brown, a seasoned community organizer, as lead organizer, according to the MVOC release.

MVOC, formed in 2008, describes its mission as identifying and developing grassroots leaders, cultivating healthy neighborhoods, and building power to confront racial, social and economic injustice. It was formed in 2008.
