MVST Seeks Cement Mason Applicants; Can Start at $17 Per Hour

VIENNA, Ohio — The Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades are seeking applicants for paid cement finisher apprenticeships. Apprentices can start at $17 per hour, with pay increasing to $30.45 per hour after training, according to a press release.

The application deadline is Jan. 17.

“This is an excellent chance for jobseekers to learn a new skill while getting paid for it,” Gary Hartman, services director at The Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, said in the release.

Cement finishers pour wet cement at commercial, highway and residential construction sites. Training includes a combination of classroom, safety and hands-on instruction.

Applicants must be 18 or older, have a valid driver’s license and pass a drug test. Applications are available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday at The Builders Association at 1372 Youngstown Kingsville Road. Applicants can also call Hartman at 330 539 6050.
