NASA Glenn Research Center to Host T2X Event in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Technology Transfer office from NASA’s Glenn Research Center and its Youngstown regional partners will host a hybrid event on May 25.

The in-person and virtual event is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. at America Makes, 236 W. Boardman St.

The APEX Accelerator at YSU, in conjunction with the Youngstown Business Incubator, Brite Energy Innovators and America Makes, will host Tom Doehne of the NASA Glenn Research Center as he explains the program.

“I’m looking forward to meeting new people from companies and organizations in the Youngstown area. Working with NASA is easy, and I’ll show you how to get started,” Doehne said. “We have innovative technologies for commercialization and programs and funding opportunities that entrepreneurs, small businesses and universities can obtain.”

The event will highlight the Technology Transfer Expansion, or T2X, programs for entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses, and the resources and funding opportunities available.

Doehne will then briefly discuss NASA’s Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer program and how to do business with NASA.

Aaron Goodman, CEO and co-founder of Petra Power and licensee of one of NASA’s technologies, will also share his story about working with NASA to develop a commercial product.

“Technology and Innovation are the future of our Valley. The APEX Accelerator at YSU exists to facilitate just this kind of private-public connection. We have worked extensively with NASA GRC in the past, and we are proud to continue with that relationship,” said Scot Loveland, procurement consultant for the Ohio APEX Accelerator at YSU.

Guests are asked to arrive early. Networking with the facilitating partners will take place after a formal presentation. Light refreshments will be provided.
