Navigators Excerpt: MS Consultants Take Projects from Start to Finish

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — In this excerpt from the Brain Gain Navigators series, Joe Leson, Northeast Ohio technical service manager for MS Consultants, talks about his process for taking an engineering project from start to finish.

“You have to start at the end and kind of think backwards,” Leson says. “You have to know the overall goal. What is my intent with this project.”

Leson discusses the multitude of opportunities one has when entering into an engineering career and what made him want to get into the field. He also gives some advice to students interested in engineering.

“You have to be ok with failure and I don’t mean failure in the sense that you didn’t accomplish something. Failure in the sense that you aren’t going to know everything. You have to ask questions. You have to learn from mistakes.”
