Nearly 2,000 Ohioans Register for Medical Marijuana

COLUMBUS – Nearly 2,000 patients are registered in Ohio’s medical marijuana program, the state announced Monday.

The Ohio Board of Pharmacy reports that the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program received 1,948 recommendations in its patient and caregiver registry. Of those recommendations, 1,062 have activated their registry card.

To date, Ohio has certified 11 Level 1 medical marijuana cultivation sites across the state, including Riviera Creek LLC in Youngstown. The operation expects to harvest its first crop early next year.

The state began accepting recommendations into its registry last week, the Board of Pharmacy said.
