New Building, Product at Soft Touch Furniture

GIRARD – Soft Touch Furniture last year added a 10,000-square-foot building to its Girard manufacturing campus that is largely used for the manufacture of tabletops.

“We’ve seen an increased demand for tabletops as customers look to make a real statement with bold new looks,” says Megan Vickers, company president.

Soft Touch, which designs and makes commercial furniture, has added custom made River Tables to its product line. These works of art combine handmade craftsmanship, epoxy resin and various wood species to create unique pieces, according to Vickers.

“We’re really excited to move forward with our River Tables.” she says. “We work hand-in-hand with customers to arrive at an overall look and concept. And then we bring it to life. The best part is no two tables are the same. So every customer gets a look that is theirs and theirs alone, whether they buy one table or 100. Custom work has always been our hallmark and our River Tables really emphasize that.”

Soft Touch is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To keep up with its growth, the company increased its salesforce nationwide in 2023, Vickers says. It also invested in new CNC machinery and design software.

“Staying up on technology is important because through that we are starting to see how AI is impacting our industry, especially in a design sense,” Vickers said. “The future possibilities are boundless, especially if you’re creative.”

Soft Touch Furniture employs more than 30. Its charity efforts include being a sponsor of the annual Panerathon, which raises money for breast cancer treatment.
