New Business Filings in Ohio Up in November
COLUMBUS, Ohio – New business filings were up again in November, reports the office of Secretary of State Jon Husted, with 7,231 entities submitting start-up documents. This is 865 more businesses than filed during November 2014 when 6,366 entities were formed.
So far in 2015, 90,446 new businesses have been formed in Ohio, maintaining course for 2015 to be another record-breaking year for the state, according to Husted’s office. At the same point in 2014, 86,334 new businesses were filed with the secretary of state.
New business filings are classified as forms filed with the Ohio secretary of state that declare the formation of a business entity, including for-profit, nonprofit and professional corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships.
Filing as a business in Ohio does not guarantee the company will begin operations, be profitable or create jobs.
