Century 21 Lakeside Realty Opens Canfield Office

CANFIELD, Ohio — Dozens of people rallied around two local real estate agents Friday to support them on their newest adventure: opening and operating the Century 21 Lakeside Realty here.

Tibitha Matheny and Valerie Park welcomed visitors to the office, 6715 Tippecanoe Road, for a ribbon-cutting and open house. Offering services to the Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, “If there’s a deed, we can sell it,” Park said.

In addition to Matheny and Park, rounding out the office are real estate agents Robert Hannah, Amanda Hamilton, Maggie Garland, Mandy Dillon, Rachael Thomas, Kim Sauerwein, Mikayla Mistovich and two new agents who will come on board next month, Matheny said. 

“We are a family and a team, but each of us are individual agents working for our own business,” Park said. Still, everyone in the office cheers for each other, she added. 

The atmosphere at Friday’s ribbon-cutting was full of excitement, with agents and family members laughing and folks mingling over catered food. The office has operated since the beginning of the year. 

“This is an unbelievable feeling” to celebrate the new business, Park said. “It’s surreal. Seeing everyone coming out to support us and have a good time” is important to the team. 

“I feel humbled, excited, nervous, proud. It’s a combination of everything I’ve been working for over the last 19 years that has finally come to fruition,” Matheny said.

Matheny and Park have known each other and worked together at the same company as independent agents for a little more than a decade, with Matheny practicing real estate for 19 years and Park 17 years. 

“I’m excited at the ambition and drive of Tibitha Matheney and Valerie Park to open their own branch,” said George Berick, owner of Century 21 Lakeside Realty. “Their commitment to their clients is extraordinary, and their relentless attitude shows in their everyday work ethic.”

Partnering with Park “is a dream come true” because the two women balance each other out, Matheny said. “Because we’re both so opposite, I think it’s going to mesh well. We each have different things we can bring toward this business venture.” They both want make sure their agents are comfortable and happy, and to create a work environment that makes them want to be there. 

Building on that, Park said they hope to continue to attract more goal-oriented agents to grow the office team.
